Substitute Teacher Certification Training On-Demand Self-Paced 

You can start this option July 1, 2024 through May 15, 2025 with completion required by June 30, 2025.   Course access will be emailed to you within one week of your prepaid registration to start the training at your convenience and work at your own pace.  If you haven't received an email to your inbox within that first week, please look in your junk or spam folder.  

Upon completion of this course, participants will have a better understanding of: 

• Basic school district and school policies and procedures
• The culture of schools and the teaching profession
• Health and safety issues, including handling medical emergencies
• Discipline, conflict resolution, and classroom management
• Techniques for starting a class
• Working with lesson plans
• Age-appropriate teaching strategies (including technology)
• Working with children with disabilities, including confidentiality issues
• Using the ELO system to secure a license
