Description
These full-day workshops are designed to empower educators with the critical skills needed to effectively support diverse learners. The sessions will cover essential topics, including identifying students for Alternate Assessment, implementing equitable instructional practices, and utilizing data to inform teaching strategies. Participants will gain practical insights into writing effective IEPs, interpreting DLM Score Reports, and using the DLM Instruction and Assessment Planner to enhance their classroom practices. Additionally, educators will explore the foundational beliefs that influence their teaching and will have the opportunity to collaborate with peers in a Community of Practice, fostering professional growth and shared learning.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Special Education Teachers AND 1 or more of the following:
- General Education Teacher
- Instructional Coach
- Principal
- District Assessment Coordinator
- Director of Curriculum/Instruction and Special Education
GOALS
- Correctly identify students who should take the Alternate Assessment
- Understand the use of data to inform instruction
- Learn how to interpret DLM Score reports
- Effectively plan instruction aligning to Alternate Academic Achievement Standards
Participants will engage in collaborative activities to deepen understanding on topics such as:
- IDEA and ESSA guidelines
- Who are the students with most significant cognitive disabilities
- Utilizing data to inform your instruction
- IEP writing tips
- Hands-on use of instructional and assessment planner
- Option to participate in a Community of Practice
