Learning Goals
Integrate content and language learning by
• Researching the architecture of a content unit (pre-workshop tasks)
• Setting unit language goals through unit and text analysis
• Identifying how Language Functions and Language Features help students convey meaning more effectively in content learning.
• Prepare to support other educators in using the WIDA ELD Standards Framework in their local contexts.
Participation Requirements
• Complete pre-work (1 hour)
• Participate in the introductory webinar (1 hour)
• Participate in the one-day, in-person workshop
Prior to Registering for the Hybrid Workshop
Consider whether the purpose, preparation, and course activities will support your role in your school or district. This workshop is for you if you can answer “yes” to most of the following questions:
a. Have you been asked to provide professional development about the WIDA ELD Standards Framework (2020 edition) to educators in your school or district?
b. Do you engage in co-planning with content/classroom educators on a regular basis?
c. Do you have experience evaluating and/or designing lessons and units?
d. Do you have a strong background in the WIDA Standards system and in working with
multilingual learners?

In-Person Workshop: 11/5/2025 8:30-3:30
Last day to register will be 10/6/2025
Price: $25 for non-consortium members (Arcadia, De Soto, Holmen, Independence, La Crosse, La Farge, Onalaska, Sparta)
Title III Consortium Members are FREE (Alma, ACHM, Bangor, Black River Falls, Blair-Taylor, Cashton, CFC, GET, Hillsboro, Melrose-Mindoro, NOW, Royall, Tomah, Viroqua, West Salem, Westby, Whitehall, Wonewoc-UC)
