BHSS Pre-Conference B: Fostering a Resilient School Culture: Application of the Compassion Resilience Toolkit in your Leadership Practices |
with Rogers Behavioral Health, DPI & the WISH Center

Wed, Dec 10, 2025 8:30am-11:30am

Session Description:

Imagine a school culture where students and staff experience compassion daily as they transition from home to school. Creating this culture begins with strong, supportive leadership and staff. Educators are expected to support students’ social-emotional and academic development, engage families, and respond to trauma, all within a positive, compassionate environment. The Compassion Resilience Toolkit offers strategies to build and sustain this culture. It addresses compassion in action, fatigue and resilience. This interactive workshop supports school leaders in exploring expectations, boundaries, staff culture, and practices to support educator well-being.

Session objectives -

-Define compassion resilience and examine its role in addressing educator burnout and enhancing staff retention.

-Learn lessons from district and school-level implementation and their impact on school culture and educator wellness.

-Engage with the Compassion Resilience Toolkit activities and reflect on leadership practices to build actionable insights.

-Equip school leaders with the tools and knowledge of the Compassion Resilience Toolkit in order to support its implementation within their school community.
