Description

Cristina Sánchez-López, author of Special Education Considerations for Multilingual Learners, will introduce a framework for information-gathering along seven integral factors that impact multilingual learners’ (MLs) performance in school and their response to instruction and intervention (Tiers 1 & 2).

In this workshop participants will:

  • Be introduced to a framework for information-gathering along seven integral factors that impact ML’s performance in school and their response to instruction and intervention (Tiers 1 & 2).

  • Practice using the framework through composite ML case study examples.

  • Contrast possible explanations for the challenges that MLs experience in school from both English Learner as well as Exceptional Learner perspectives.

  • Examine classroom-based research, resources, and strategies to support instruction and intervention for MLs who experience challenges in school.

This event is FREE for Title III Consortium Members for the 2024-2025 school year.  Non-Consortium Participants will be $175.00.
